I’m so excited I can barely breath!

But first let me do an update from last week.

After sending out last week’s newsletter, people reached out and asked questions. I’m thankful for that. That’s why I’m here. Feel free to do it any time.

Onto new business.

Back a few newsletters ago, I announced I had some things coming soon. That writing was going to become a bigger part of my business.

I’m launching a printed monthly newsletter, mailed just like a magazine. Each month, the newsletter will be a compilation of stories, news articles in the real estate world. Most articles will be upbeat. But be warned: some will be sad. Some will be controversial.

But I can promise you this. It will be real. It will be authentic.

This weekly email will remain my platform for sharing thoughts, things I notice. In shorter form.

If you’re a past client or a current client, you’re already on the mailing list.

If you aren’t and would like a subscription, simply reply to this email with a mailing address. On the first of every month, your issue will arrive in the mail. The first issue arrives around February 1st.

Now it’s time to check off another box for 2017.

I’m super excited to announce: My book is almost here!

“The Value Driven Approach to Sell Real Estate: A practical guide to protect yourself from Real Estate Greed & bank an extra $30,000 profit by thinking like the great Warren Buffett”.

I finished the final edits. The publisher confirmed receipt of my final edits. Next is to print the books and send them to the fulfillment center.

Why this book? A better question is why write any book?

Simple. It’s to help people. Specifically home owners.

If you’re thinking “Yeah but I’m thinking of buying a home.” Then this book is a great “behind the scenes” of what happens during the home selling process. In my previous emails, I shared some of the shenanigans that agents pull with home buyers. Here’s some of the shenanigans around selling a home.

It’s interesting that 90% of Americans want to write a book. How many actually do?

0.2%

That’s it.

And it’s not easy. It’s not about just putting words on paper. It’s what you want to say, why you want to say and most importantly how you say it. What to include and what to cut out. Write. Edit. Write more. Edit more. Rinse and repeat.
Every blue moon, burn out hits. And I read this quote.

“The professional loves her work. She is invested in it wholeheartedly. But she does not forget that the work is not her.”

– Steven Pressfield, “The War of Art”

Then I remember that the book is not about me. It’s not about the words. It’s about the ideas being conveyed. It’s about helping people make smarter decisions. It’s about impact. Hopefully a double impact.

What do I mean by “double impact”?

How do you get a copy?

I’ll share that in the next issue.
